22 Jan: Love Stafford celebration @ Rising Brook Church

Sunday 22 January, 6.30pm at Rising Brook Baptist Church.

Mission Market open from 6p.m.

In the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, a Churches Together initiative brings you whole evening based around the theme that ‘Faith Works’.

The new Bishop of Lichfield, Michael Ipgrave, will be one of the special guests for the evening. He will be sharing a short ‘Thought for the night’.

Our MP, Jeremy Lefroy, has also confirmed that he will be with us – and will be leading the prayers for the town in what is a week of prayer.

The Celebration service will feature an interview with the Stafford Prison chaplain, Jo Honour as well as Sam Phillip’s reporting from Love Stafford’s projects last summer with Soul Survivor.

Music will be provided by Johnny Edwards and the band from the Beacon Baptist Centre.

Norman Jones, the deputy chief executive of the Borough Council will share how faith works for him.

The exhibition stands in the Mission Market will be an opportunity to discover how many local Christian-based charities are changing the world. Some work locally – others internationally. Those represented include the Signposts Centre, Street Pastors, The Youth Net, Debt Counselling, House of Bread and others working in Stafford. Alongside these will be the Dalit Freedom Network, working in India and The Gideons whose work is worldwide. So far 15 organisations have requested stalls. The Mission Market will be open from 6p.m. for the thirty minutes before the celebration programme starts – and again after the programme has finished.

A great evening is in prospect! Please feel to free advertise this celebration as widely as possible and encourage all your congregation and contacts to come along and be encouraged.
