Community Churches Night Shelter in Stoke-on-Trent Call for Volunteers

Stoke-on-Trent Churches Community Night Shelter is working to provide a safe night’s rest to street homeless individuals within Stoke-on-Trent. We began with an initial conversation about the seemingly increasing homelessness we were witnessing in our city, and went on to run a hugely successful pilot project from January 2016-March 2016. Without our strong steering group or our 40-strong volunteer team, none of this would have been possible.

We feel called to develop a winter night shelter within Stoke-on-Trent for a number of reasons:

·         Because we believe that God teaches us to be as loving as possible to individuals in our community

·         Because we believe that everyone should be able to have a safe and peaceful place to sleep, where they can be warm and enjoy a meal

·         Because we believe that each individual deserves respect and should be treated with dignity.

Although we are a Christian organisation based on Christian values, volunteers and guests are very welcome from all faiths and none.

We are always looking for more volunteers and there are a variety of different roles to get involved with so please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!
