The SHINE group are based in Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent and supports vulnerable adults with physical or learning disabilities. The SHINE group provides the only social outlet for many of the members, due to a tendency for society to exclude people with disabilities. The majority of our members live in care homes and a few live independently with support, or with their families.
Members have a variety of disabilities including: Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, Epilepsy, hearing and visual impairments, learning difficulties, and behavioural and emotional difficulties.
The Charity Gospel Choir is a 40-member strong choir based in Stoke-on-Trent. They sing authentic gospel music and will be holding their annual fundraising concert in support of the SHINE group.
