We're looking for a committed Christian chaplain experienced in building wellbeing in vulnerable adults.
Saltbox is a Christian charity based in Stoke-on-Trent. We offer are services to some of the most vulnerable people across the city.
Our Restart service, now in its ninth year, provides a safe place for ex-offenders to deal with life's challenges whilst positively looking towards the future. We provide housing for those who have come through the system within the last two years but are now either homeless or at risk of homelessness.
In addition to housing, we provide individually tailored training and mentoring, along with volunteering and work placement opportunities, plus guidance to reconnect with family relationships whilst re-integrating into community life.
The role of Restart Chaplain will be to work alongside churches, ministries and partner groups to tend to our clients’ spiritual wellbeing. You will help them to develop their own spiritual awareness and build supportive networks within the community whilst maintaining a pastoral presence available to all.
This is a challenging and rewarding role where you can make a real difference in shaping both the spiritual support that we can offer, and in turn, the futures of those in our programme.
As spiritual development based on Christian values is an integral part of the role, it is an occupational requirement that this position be filled by a committed Christian who can confidently provide faith development activities alongside experience of working with ex-offenders and supporting those with complex needs.
