Data Link

In 2007, the Saltbox organised the re-launch of the Data Link scheme as part of its support of work with elderly people.

This project is a voluntary scheme for anyone living at home who might be reassured to know that essential information is readily available to the Emergency Services should they suffer an accident or sudden illness in their home.

The scheme ensures that vital information is available not only to identify the person but also to advise of relevant illnesses, allergies, medication & contact addresses.

Data Link was initially sponsored by Staffs Neighbourhood Watch, Stoke-on-Trent Local Strategic Partnership & the Sentinel. During 2008 and 2009 packs were available throughout North Staffs via doctors’ surgeries, health centres, churches, etc. The aim of the scheme is provide 20,000 packs locally.

Unfortunately all the Data Link stock has been used and the funding ran out in 2009. Saltbox is currently looking for funding to restart the scheme.

For further information about Data Link please contact the Saltbox.
