Trent connection

In March 2002, as leaders in North Staffordshire considered the future direction of the 2C7 meetings, the River Trent came into prominence as a strategic focus which needed to be explored in prayer. As research was made into the history of river, God began a networking of leaders from towns and cities located along the Trent.

Over the next two years, God led a number of Christians from Stoke-on-Trent to prayer walk the River Trent in different stages: to Burton-on-Trent, Nottingham, Newark, Scunthorpe & Hull.

In 2004, it was felt that having prayer walked to the east coast, it was now necessary to follow the course of the Trent & Mersey Canal & prayer walk to the west.

In 2005, a northern prayer walk took place following the route of the M6 motorway north from Stoke-on-Trent to Carlisle.
